Do Ducks need other ducks?

My duck lost her duck friend that I bought her with, if I give her a mirror to look at will she stop crying? I tried to show it to her but she flew away...

well if they bond they will be heart broken and will wanna be with anything that moves thats what happened to my cuzes male pekin the female/male got killed by their beagle!and now he hangs out with everyone but my guinea pig he was a boy and had a brother and one day on brother died of a heart attack and the other of loneliness........ sorry had to say it.......

well, its been about two weeks and she doesnt seem to be to upset anymore like about being alone. she answers to me when I call her name but im srating work soon and i dont want her to get to upset, is there anything else i can do to help her?

Ducks are happier in a flock, after growing up with others around she is used to having a duck friend. It would be kindest for her if you could find a replacement of a similar age for her.

Do people need people? Yes, ducks need ducks. They are flock animals and without companionship they can literally pine away and die from loneliness. Even if they don't die from it, it's miserable and unhappy, like a human in solitary confinement. Horrible. Please do her a favor and find a companion, especially since you'll be gone for 8 or more hours a day now and she will have no one.
