Do Ducks Need Swimming Water Everyday?

Hey everyone,
I have been looking into getting a few ducks maybe, and was wondering what swimming water they needed. We have a kiddie pool. Would they need it refilled everyday, or could we just use it a couple of times a week. We also would have a water bucket/container for when we don't have a pool out. Would this be ok? Thanks!

Technically they don't NEED any swimming water as long as they have drinking water they can get their whole heads in, but it's good for their soul and condition of the feathers etc, and I believe anyone with ducks as pets would want them to have access to swimming water, for their enjoyment and the joy of watching them play in it.

So swimming water a few times a week is fine. How often it would need changing would depend on how many ducks, what breed/size, size of pool....

Hi! We live in Michigan so our winters get cold. Our ducks get swimming water late spring thru early fall. Many people use kiddie pools. As long as ducks have water they're pretty happy! The water will get dirty, as soon as you change it.... and the ducks will love it.
We have a deep black rubber tub from TSC and I change the water every other day usually, mostly because of the poop .... ducks are very messy. Fresh water throughout the day is supplied for drinking water.
Good luck!

I guess it kind of depends on the breed of ducks. I hear the Muscovy and khaki Campbell's need the least. You got to figure these guys love to forage and they are forging threw grass.

My goal is to have the Ducks less dependent on me and more dependent on the land. So I'm going to choose to build a few ponds for them so they can drink/ play.
