do i still need predator-proofing ? (for a rooftop)

actually I think I'm gonna figure out if it's allowed in the first place then make a new post but while waiting should I still ask my questions etc (and research to see)
Maybe its easier to ask permission to keep 3-4 chickens (hens) in the park. ?

I didn’t know you live in Turkey. Best to put that in your profile. Btw I have been to Turkey 2x. Beautiful country and very friendly people. ;)

I don't see why not,,, and I'm pretty sure we do have space like. not sure on the exact measurements though !

someone once said “ you will def want to figure out how to keep them weather-proofed up there. the roof surface is made to reflect heat and keep it out of the building which is going to *bake* your chickens if you aren't careful”

and now I have more questions. I'm not sure if I should make a new post or update this one ? I'm gonna ask real quick.

Good point about the roof material. At any rate, you’d want to make sure you have really good shade and ventilation.

I’ve only been to your country once, but it was a lovely visit - I went to Istanbul, Kuşadasi, and Ephesus.

You won't be able to keep snakes or rats out of a coop without galvanized steel hw cloth. One of snakes main sources of food are birds and eggs.Rats chew thru wood, concrete and aluminum. The only thing I know that'll keep a snake or rat out is steel
Bird netting will stop snakes as the scales get caught in the netting. They go in , get stuck and can't back out. Easy to deal with I Pellet gun them in the head, cut them out and patch the hole. - rats are another story - hardware cloth is about the only deterrent I've found. I have had no dealings with scorpions, monitor lizards, hedgehogs,or striped hyena's. We deal with opossums, red fox, wild cats, eagles, vultures, dogs n cats (domestic dump offs),and owls. Bird netting and shade cloth keep the flying predators at bay as they can't see the chichens well so don't bother them. We use pallets and wire wrapped around them for Wild dogs, wild cats, and opossum's. Our perimeter is Pallets with wire covering.

I have the same type of set up(pallets and hw cloth) I prefer a one size fits all method of dealing with predators (hw cloth)but have some nice netting should I need to use it
