Hi,
I know I have made too many threads in the 3 days I've been on here but my last question for a while (hopefully)
So my five week old used to have heat lamp morning and night but since I got 3 day old chicks yesterday she said I could take away the 5 day old chicks heat lamp.

So I have this is the first night I they have had no heater (they are still inside because there coop isn't done) they have been all tightly cuddled up (which isn't unusual since there siblings) and we're chirping for the first minute of the night without the heat lamp but throughout the days without a heat lamp they have showed no signs they were cold.

So should I invest and buy another heat lamp? Or just let them be.
Thanks a lot and sorry for all the questions I'm a beginner Chicken owner.

They are not huddled because they are "siblings". They are huddled for warmth.

They are chirping because of the change and because they have never been subjected to normal day/night light cycles. They need to acclimate to 'normal'.

I have requested that this thread be move to the Raising Baby Chicks forum.

You can click in the 'Forums' tab and choose the right forum to post new threads based on the topic of your question. You don't have to keep making them in the New Member Introductions Forum as you won't always get the right audience to see and answer your questions.

You can come and ask questions every day if you want. Please put your location in.

Chicks tend to huddle up when they sleep at night. Adults do too, but they do it in a straight line on the roosting boards.

If you are worried, use a regular bulb for them and let the new guys have the warmer bulb.

I live in Australia,
And they huddle up in a pile then a line but they always have. Even when I knew they were warm enough.

I will give them another night or two and post back if I'm still worried thanks!
