I seem to remember reading something a few years ago which said that a ducks quack does not echo.
I forget the reasoning behind their theory but it's something I have been thinking about today.

Has anyone proved it?

Let me know your thoughts because I am genuinely interested to know the answer to this.

Please don't tell me to 'Google it', Google is not a reliable source of information.

An echo is caused by sound waves bouncing off of an object. Humans can hear because our ear drums are a tiny flap of skin that vibrates when it comes in contact with sound waves. It is impossible for a duck quack that we can audibly hear not be able to also cause an echo.

Wow that's pretty techy.
My brain doesn't cope with that sort of stuff.
Thanks though, I think my question has been thoroughly answered.
I can sleep well tonight.

I'm not quite sure... I was in a place recently where I was hearing echoes, but when a certain loud duck flew across there, she didn't echo... 🤔
