Do you eat Turkey eggs?

I wasnt sure about eating them either. I have 5 BR poults 4 1/2 weeks old so ill be expecting eggs next spring. We got them to be able to hatch out our own turkeys I was curious about eatting the eggs also but I have read some people think they are worth too much to eat and hatching is better. If the eggs are as good as you say I wont have any eggs to hatch lol and my chicken may feel left out:p  But I may give them a try.

I've hatched the poults that I want for this year, so I am so happy for all of the remaining turkey eggs. When I go out to pick eggs, I look for the turkey eggs first. :gig

Since you guys describe them as 'smoother and creamier' how do they compare to duck eggs? I find those taste like that, but I don't really like them (unless they are in baked goods, I don't like them alone).

I feed my duck eggs back to my flock right now  - I am just not a fan. If they were fertile, I would hatch, but I don't have any drake.

How big are turkey eggs?

I don't eat eggs, but I use them in baking. I can notice not so much a taste difference but a consistency difference in what I bake with turkey eggs. The turkey egg baked goods have a noticeably heavier consistency that I don't like as much as those with chicken eggs. They say that duck eggs are supposed to make baked goods better, but I really don't notice a difference between goods baked with them vs those with chicken eggs. Same with goose eggs, which are just handier. You don't have to break as many open.

I HATE duck eggs! They are sooooooooo hard to scramble when making scrambled eggs. They have a weird taste to them. I don't like the taste. All of my duck eggs are sold to restaurants. The chefs LOVE cooking with them. They can have them! :/ :sick

My turkey eggs are about 1 1/2 size of my chicken eggs. When I scramble 2 turkeys eggs, it's too many eggs for me. 1 turkey egg is usually plenty for me for breakfast.

I'm with you on the duck eggs. I am NOT a fan of duck eggs.

Could duck eggs taste breed specific? The only ones I tried were from my muscovy duck. Didn't want to try any of my Khakis after that :sick

So they taste different, I'm glad to hear that. I'd be willing to try them now :)

I'm not sure about the breed. Scrambled muscovy duck eggs are yuck.

That's good to hear. I wonder how your Khaki duck eggs taste. :/
Those are the ones she put in the quiche. My muscovy duck is MIA laying her eggs in an undisclosed location. Little brat. She comes out every morning but goes back once I leave for work. They are smarter then they let on! I need to find those eggs before they start to smell.

Oooooooooooh ok. Gotcha. ;)

My girls do the same thing as far as hiding their nest. :barnie And then 35 days later, I see 12 ducklings and mama marching home. :he
