Originally I was told by the saddle shop I bought her from that she came from Meyer and was a New variety called a Blue Star. I asked what breeds she came from and I was told a cross between a barred rock and an Australorp. I heard they are both great calm nice breeds. But she's hyper, loud and blue. So I looked on Meyer, no such bird. And the Blue Andalusian fit her personality and body shape. Meyer does not reply to my requests so I can only guess. Now I’m curious! I have 1 Sapphire Gem/Sapphire Splash (not sure what exactly) & she is not flighty or crazy! She is very sweet & likes to be held. Are those two breeds the only way to make a blue cross bird? The hatchery I got her from doesn’t even have blue Andalusians.
I went to Meyer website and did an online chat. I showed them her photo. They said she's a Blue Andalusian. Lol.Honestly my black stars are the boss of the flock. My andalusians stay in the background.
Good deal!I went to Meyer website and did an online chat. I showed them her photo. They said she's a Blue Andalusian. Lol.
Thank you. What do you have?Nice looking birds, don't have any of these breeds myself but they look neat.![]()
I am hoping for that. I have an EE that was like that also. She's better now too.I had a easter egger that used to do that. She started laying eggs and went calmer.
