Does anyone own a chinchilla on here?

I need a cage like that! I currently can't afford one though I am planning to buy one a few months after adoption. You have a great setup! I can tell you love them alot!
You may be able to build one yourself with some wood and hardware cloth. I don't know if they would chew the wood though. You may be able to find something that works better.
But then you could make it for cheaper and you could build as big as you want.

You could look at all-wire rabbit cages for ideas. They are usually built of wire mesh that is so strong you do not need wood supports, which is good when you have an animal that chews on everything wooden!

That's a good idea!
I wonder if their feet would get stuck in the wire though. I guess if you line it with fleece that may not be an issue

They will chew wood. Any wood used has to be "chinchilla" safe. Untreated pine is fine. It makes it hard to clean. They sometimes spray their urine (especially the females). It would start to smell after awhile. An all metal cage is best. I do not know if you saw in my set up photo, I use fleeces liners over stainless steel pans. You can also use them over the wire mesh. It is not good for their feet to stand directly on the mesh for long periods of time. They can get bumblefoot from it.😊

I love chinchillas! My parents had one when I was like 4 years old but it only lived to be 5 years old because it needed a tooth trim but the vets who did it overdosed it with the anesthesia. It wouldn't have needed a tooth trim if we had given it better things to chew on though! I still want another one but it'll be a few years before I even seriously think about getting one again because I'm busy right now and I need to focus on the animals that I already have.

I actually a

That's so sad!!😥😥 I hope you are able to get another one! I understand! We have 25 dogs, (including puppies right now, we raise rat terriers) 4 ducks, 5 chickens, 7 fish, a parakeet and 2 cats! I hmderstand you needing tonfocas on the others!😂
