Dog attack - Ellie dislocated toe - me, broken bones UPDATE

It says farm animal in your ordanance, could use that and insist that 2 chickens are pets, pets that stay in your yard and don't attack anyone or anything.

If you are on good terms with your doctor see if you can get him/her to write a order saying they are your therapy, might work. I know a lady who had her doctor write her a slip saying that for her dog and they have to let her have her dog now in her apartment because it is now medical.

Hey just found this, sorry your going thru this again. Give those babies a hug from me, poor babies. Like Jody said Squeak.

Hi and thank you kind hearts so very much for checking in. I've been slow to do everything - including typing - with one arm/hand out of commission and now an ankle/leg brace as well (pulled ligaments {from dog 'incident') believed by the doc to be causing the pain and falls that keep hurting the broken hand).. I'll be in the hand/wrist cast till at least July.

Little Ellie is still splinted and bandaged and the rain has been relentless here (of course) so she and BJ are sad and cooped up since she isn't supposed to get her foot wet. It will be 3 weeks for her splint/bandaging mid-week this coming week - that's when the vet said that stuff can come off - I can't wait, and just hope the dislocation 'set'. They're so depressed cooped up

No news on the legal front yet. I hope the lawyer gets in touch before long. I will otherwise get in touch with him.

Other dog news - Jody knows about the Rhodesian Ridgeback that tried getting the birds in December (unsuccessfully, thankfully) and who bit me. It was accompanied by a Jack Russell, already dead due to the subsequent negligence of it's people, who let the dogs roam again and the JR got killed by a car. Well, the RR was at large again last weekend - they were unable to find it and came peeking through my trees to see if it was in my yard. Thank goodness the birds were inside. While she was peeking through my trees, the dog came barreling past her from someone elses yard. I'm going to advise the ACO in a note right now that they don't seem to be learning from the prior experiences.

I haven't seen the husky whose visit resulted in Ellie's and my injuries but I have no faith that that dog's people will be any more on the ball than the RR/JRT people.

Meanwhile, getting flooded by the irresponsible folks that live in between these 2 dog owners, the ones who broke laws with their development. And I can't do a darned thing about it because the water diversion project I was attempting got tabled once I sustained the fractures.

Have you ever wanted to run away from home?

I am immensely glad for BYC though

Will keep you posted on any legal happenings.

Well, if you have to hire someone to do the water diversion project, sue the dog owner for the cost. After all, if you weren't injured, you could have done the work yourself. That'll teach her. Didn't you say that she had lied to help the neighbors that are flooding you?

Oh by golly. All these posts make me SO MAD! If a dog ever touches one of my chickens and I get brushed off, oh... They better watch it. I will be all over their rear ends! Argh. Any disrespect and I'll get them fired. Just watch me do it.
Don't stand for that!

Good news is I don't see my enforcement officers ever doing something like that. Sadly, *and not because it's a small town* they're well aquainted with my family due to trespassers on our property. Ugh.

Geeeesssshhhh that's scary! Get a lawyer, a gun and target practice! I am so glad my yard is fenced in. RR's are huge and can eat a person! OUCH
Can't they get them on a leash law or something???
Keep us posted

where i live a dog coming after live stock becomes target practice real fast.

my neighbors dogs have came up and chased my chickens and guineas 3 times now, 1st time i told them to keep there dogs more contained (i dont let my 170lb wolf hybrid go bug there horses all day now do i).

2nd time i told them there dogs will be shot on site if they touch my birds.

3rd time i told them if i EVER see there dog on my property again it WILL know what buckshot it is.

since then there dogs haven't been up here again but now i'm gonna fence in my property and let my dog off his runner more and prevent there dogs from getting in.
