Dominique X Barred rock cross

I often refer to my hatchery type BRs as "production cuckoos" they are just a black and white/barred version of a production 'red' or any colored variety egg-laying industrial type chicken to me. And yes I love mine they are wonderful brown egg-layers.

I would just call them production line BRs, your way sounds fine to me but be carefull because cuckoo and barred technically have a little bit of difference between them.

I personally like to try and stay away from any industially raised poultry because of personal experience with that ball game. In my eyes the hatcheries that hatch to sell to the public arn't quite as bad but, I've seen how commercial companys that raise broilers and layers work and would rather not see it again.

Yeah I know about the differences betwixt the two but if you could see these girls they're definitely cuckoo patterned. Now on another note, I do have REAL BRs coming in Dec. as my brother went Monday and picked them up along with NHs and Delawares form Mrs. kathyinmo the BR's are out of (j-whip)'s stock from Good Shepard Poultry farms line (Frank Reese) some of the best in the country. SWEET I might add. Btw I to have worked around the industry type poultry myself, about 17 or so years in the broiler bus. and a couple in the broiler breeding (hatching eggs) houses, so I know exactly where your coming from or going with that one.

Back on the ops original ? so im not hyjacking here
the offsping will be some what more of blueish hue to the feathering esp. in the pullets more than the blacker coloring and most (75%) will be rose combed in the F1 generation from there on(F2's>) its a crap shoot on comb shapes then.
