The conure chicks re to hatch around January 13th. Momma bird, Tsunami, has 6 eggs and is sitting so hard that she rarely leaves the nest box. Going to be a busy february for me, hand feeding all those babies!

My incubator arrived today. It's an el cheapo one that i found at Walmart.ca, so I'm going to give it a try. If it doesn't work, I can use this one as a brooder and get a 'proper' incubator .

As for my art, been going slow. I've not even touched my paint sina. week. Going through an artistic slump it seems. Even my recorder playing is spotty. Sigh.

As far as I know, they're going to hatch around the 13th. BOY am I going to busy with babies this year, LOL!

One of my quail hens has poop balls on her toes. She's currently soaking her feet in the tub. All but one has fallen off and it is impressively big, impressively hard and impressively stubborn to remove. The others fell off after 5 minutes in the water. Just that last one is hanging on. Silly beastie.

ETA: I got it off! She's now in her cage with her roommate, drying off.

When will the Conure eggs hatch?

If I'm lucky, it should start this weekend. I have a growing suspicion I might have two hens and I didn't candle, so I might have 8-9 infertile eggs, LOL! But mom and dad are sitting hard and making a racket in the nestbox. SOMETHING must be going on that I don't know about!

Not this batch. I really should have, but this is a new pair. Male's never bred before. I didn't want to stress them out by me being too nosey, though a voice in my head says I check the box so often that I might as well move my bed into the nest box, LOL!

If there's no chick by tomorrow, I'll candle them.
