I think you are correct. In Hawaii there is a lot of cock fighting, the young boys tie one out as bait to pull the aggressive ones in. I don't know how he got free but the cord was frayed. I am convinced 'bigboy' stayed close until 'freckles' got free. They are both good roosters; when we got the cord off his leg I was stroking him and he went to sleep hahaha so much for aggressive bird. They are however, still wild and not pets even so, I cannot see them sick or injured, I think they know that but I know very little about chickens. Not to many people want roosters here unless to fight, so I will keep my eyes on them, they really are quite sweet. I would have a coup if I could but that is not possible so I will do the best I can.
