Is the hammer hitting tin immediately over (ie right on top of) the incubator or just on the side/roof of the room in which the incubator is located? The former would be more likely to be detrimental than the latter...and even that would be something to question.

I would say the vibration would be worse that the actual sound. If you can feel the vibration the eggs prolly can too.

I was out in the shed because I am using a broody hen but the hamering was about 20 foot away from the eggs but there was a lot of noise

That situation is not a danger to the developing eggs in any way, imo.

Yeah I agree.

the only time I would even pause about it is making really loud noises much closer than that at hatching day. Before or after I would not even think twice about it.

But there have been construction noises around eggs hatching under hens and things seemed to go just fine...
