1-15-19: Day 19 of Blue Sex Link double egg. Movement and veins are still visible.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UPDATED INFORMATION: Blue Brahma double did not hatch. They made it to lockdown, but did not hatch. One twin pipped into the other's yolk sac, resulting in the death of both.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To start off what happened behind the title, we had watched the previous thread of the twins. I was given permission that if any of our hens were to lay a double then I could try to incubate it. Well the need for an incubator came up, as we are planning on breeding Blue Australorps, but three days earlier my Brahma hen had laid a double! We generally sell eggs for eating, but I withheld this specific egg and tried to convince myself that we didn't need to hatch anything...
Well this thread proves that I couldn't resist and so now we have three Blue Brahma eggs in the Magicfly/Janoel 12 incubator!
Today is Day 5 and we have TWINS!
This thread will document the growth of the Double mostly, but I will of course show pictures of the others. There is a high chance that this egg doesn't make it to full development, but I wanted this more for the initial documentation as it is not often that two embryos form.
Previous hatched Blue Brahma
DAY 0:
Incubator:
EGGS ALL BLUE BRAHMA:
Can you tell which is the double?
Into the incubator:
