Hello all,

New duck owner here.

While I was cleaning out my duck's living area (duck sleeps inside during the night), my duck caught wind of my ramen meal that I was eating.

She didn't eat too much, but I just want to make sure that she won't be at risk of any health issues due to the unhealthiness of ramen's in general.

Edit - ramen included spices, seasoning packet, etc. (everything a duck shouldn't be eating to my knowledge)

Please help.

She definitely sounded like she was enjoying her "treat."

I just got worried she was going to get something extreme like salt poisoning or something...
If she's got lots of fresh water and a cool place to chill she should be fine😉

I just recently tried to rescue a pig that was dying of salt toxicity, it should be pretty apparent. Things like excessive panting, dizziness and a hard time getting around would indicate salt toxicity.

Keep us posted in case she gets any weird symptoms.

Like you said - she immediately drank a ton of water and knocked out under the tree.

Doesn't seem to be breathing any harder than normal, and still chases me around normal so she does seem fine...?

Her chest/belly is pretty big right about now but that might be because of the head of cabbage she just finished eating

I would say she's probably fine. Drinking that water is a HUGE indicator. Salt toxicity affects the organs and most severely the brain. She drank, her body is sending messages and her brain is responding.
