Duck Egg: Blood Ring/Dead Egg?

Hey guys! My Pekin duck went super broody (we have 4 Pekin ladies, and a mallard couple). She's been sitting on a group of mallard/pekin eggs. I was surprised to see that about six looked fertile. Fast forward over a couple weeks... At this point I'm finding egg shells with nothing inside, or just cracked eggs that are too damaged to repair and I'm down to 3. A few days later I find a dead, not fully hatched duckling in the coop. I decided to pull the remaining 2 eggs and placed them in an incubator... the incubator doesn't smell great... so I did a float test and candled them both. One egg looked cloudy and sank when I did a float test so I just threw it out. The second passed the float test but I see zero movement and what veins I do see might just be part of a blood circle?? I'm thinking this one passed at some point. Thoughts?

The mallard laid a new egg and I'm incubating it this go around. I can see it has already developed spider veins and has a heartbeat. I'm nervous about keeping this older egg in the incubator since I've read about bad eggs exploding and contaminating the incubator (?!).

Here's a quick video if this is better: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XXBtZJpYORY3Y7COzvzIpF55MunpAJlc/view?usp=drive_link

Thank you in advance. Clearly new to this!

Hi,

The float test isn't 100%. I would just do the sniff test as that's more reliable. You should be able to figure out which egg is stinking.

That does look like a blood ring to me.

That one is dead. When they start to get that dark orangish tinge inside the air cell and turn into what looks like mucous like jiggly blobs they are dead.
