Hi, I have been watching Backyard Chickens for a while and respect the knowledge of the host.
I currently have a chicken flock of 12 - 1 Rooster named Goose, and 11 hens. I also had a flock of 11 ducks until 2 rogue pit bulls found them. I now have 4 survivors, but they are pretty beat up. I have 9 eggs in the incubator.

So sorry to hear about the dogs getting to your ducks. I hope that the 4 left survive. I would keep them warm and in a quiet place until they recover from shock if they seem to have that. Keep them altogether and address any wounds that they may have by cleaning them and putting neosporin on them without pain reliever. I pray that your eggs hatch and that these 4 make it. Hopefully you can find the owners of the dogs and bill them for your loss.

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

What a terrible experience! I know there's really no way to make up for your loss, but I am glad your neighbors seem remorseful and hopefully they prevent it from happening again.

I will be wishing the best for your remaining ducks and glad you can continue their legacy with the eggs in the incubator.

Please keep us updated with your hatch. Thanks for joining and introducing your flock! (I would love to see pictures of Goose and co. if you have any!)

Welcome to BackYard Chickens!
