Duck ponds

My ducks and geese have eaten all the vegetation that was in the pond too. But now I am installing fencing to make containment areas to grow these things back. The ducks n geese are welcome to eat anything that grows through the containment areas (theoretically speaking).

that's a great idea - i may have to steal that ;)

So far, so good! I am still in the installing process, but I have several areas that I have started to plant and they seem to be going according to plan. I placed my fencing so that there is about a 4" void at the bottom and 6 - 12" from the actual bank so that my GIANT frogs can still get around.

I use a plastic kiddie pool for my ducks to swim in. I have a little less then 1 acre pond in my front yard and my ducks will soon go out on that for some hours of the day to free range and swim. You can just never keep a ducks water clean. I give my ducks fresh water to drink every day and after 1 min it is dirty. Ducks don't mind just make sure water with poop in it doesn't stay in the pool for long. I just dump my kiddie pool out every other day. I am going to get a drain soon tho.
