Duck throwing out eggs

Before, I made a thread about how I kept finding eggs outside of my broody hens' nest. I still am. Every morning and evening, I'll go out to find an eggshell in their water. Sometimes there will be a cracked egg with nothing but yellow, grit-like goop inside of it. I've been candling the eggs every night, and they all look very developed. I can see their veins (with some of them I can see their little feet moving) and all, so where are these babies going? Every egg in the nest is developing, I make sure of that, so where are these eggs with goop coming from? I can imagine a duck kicking out a dead egg and perhaps cracking it, but wouldn't there be a dead duckling in there?

I'm having the same problem. I have seen my ducks accidently crack an egg they laid and carry it to their water bowl. Rare but has happened. We have been losing fertilized and developing eggs now. The pen is fully enclosed. We started to suspect a snake is dropping in but today the egg was in the water and contents spilled outside the water. We think the eggs are getting broken and either getting eaten by the ducks or discarded next to the water. The duck that is broody we dont think is doing it. The drake is still penned up with her and her sister still lays eggs in the same nest as the developing eggs. We think these two are causing eggs to break, more by accident. They only sleep penned up, they free range during the day. I have seen the male try to mount her on her nest. And the duck that is broody stuck snuggles up next to her sister to drop and egg in the nest. Its these two that I think are our problem.
