Duck Tractor size

Ducks need 4 square feet each in the coop and 8 square feet each in a run -- ideally, your tractor would need to be 120 square feet for 15 ducks. Putting 15 ducks in your proposed 95 square foot tractor would be less than ideal, but doable.

The main problem will be moving it arround -- I foresee that would become a chore and the tractor might start to suffer at the joints quite quickly.

I think we've decided to make it 8x12 with half being coop space. We will free range during the day. 2 pools for swimming outside the run to keep them close to home base. And change plans as we need to to keep them happy. I have space up by my barn if our plan doesn't work in the tree farm. I won't let them suffer or be decimated by predators if at all possible! I love my animals and enjoy taking care of them all. Our tree rows are straight and long so hopefully stress from moving the enclosure will be minimal but we will see.

Think about how you are going to move them at the end of the rows of trees. I learned to work that out in my head before I start building.
Last summer I built an 8x10 tractor for 10 growing geese. Had to move it every single day and it did occasionally become muddy, even on grassy pasture. You would think it would take a long time for the grass to recover after 10 geese tore up an area that small, but it did not. You could visibly see the progression of days in the field behind the tractor. It looked bad for about 2 days, then started turning green, then REALLY green. 10 days back looked better than the field they were about to be moved onto!
I got a hose out to the field and that helped tremendously. I would wash the goose poop into the ground after I moved the tractor, and if it was really dry, I would water back a few days as well (now you see how it could look so good, so fast?). Most days we put a masonry tub into the tractor, plus a bucket of the appropriate height for drinking. Wet waterfowl are happy waterfowl!

Way back when they hearded duks across the landscape to forage; the way a shepard herds sheep. I wonder if you could train a dog?

I believe herding dogs were often trained with ducks, especially Runners, so yes, I agree with you and would think you could.
