Duckling help! Injured and alone

Recently I’ve had some chickens sitting on duck eggs. There were probably six but only one had survived (two more might hatch). Things were going well, and my two broody hens were taking care if it together, until today it fell out of the nesting box and got attacked by another one of my birds.

It survived and it’s mamas defended it, but now it has relatively big wounds in its head. Currently I have it inside in a brooder, but it is alone. This is so I can keep spraying it with Vetericyn and make sure it’s doing okay. I’m also worried that the chickens will peck it’s wound since it’s bloody.

What should I do? I don’t want to keep it all by itself, but I don’t feel like it’s safe being outside.

Attached is a photo of the ducking; it is the same on both sides.

Keep wounds clean and use neosporin without pain killer.
No pain killer as this is toxic.
Edited: The vetericyn will be fine to use.
Also, until the other ducklings hatch, put a stuffed animal with it for comfort.
You can give a little sugar water if it is in shock.

Thank you for your advice. I kept spraying her head with the medicine and the vetericyn and also did everything I could to make her feel less alone (feather duster towel mom and stuffed chicken). She’s healing wonderfully!!

None of the other eggs ended up hatching unfortunately, so today I adopted a duckling from our local feed store. Someone I noticed as soon as I got home was that it’s legs are very spread and it is having some difficulty getting around… do you have any familiarity with wry leg? Could that be what it is or is her waking normal. Attacked is a photo of her sitting with her legs out. She kind of walks like she is ice skating; pushing her legs out to the side while she walks. I am making sure she gets plenty of nicacin in her water 👍

I’m so glad your little one is found well. 🙂
Did the feed store have the ducklings on shavings?
Ducklings need to be on something smoother like shelf liner.
This is what I use.
Have several cuttings to alternate and then just rinse off and dry in the sun. And reuse.
