My ducklings are weird, ones 71g and the other one is 31g. They are at most 2 days apart. I went to the vet and they just dismissed my concerns and gave my parents a fat 79$ bill. Theyre also sneezing alot and I do believe they're breathing quite heavily (their tail is moving whilst breathing) and there was mold in their brooder ( i did a deep clean out tho, I didn't see it cuz it was in a corner that I can't see if I'm just staring at it normally. I'll clean brooder every day from now on tho) I wish the vet was some help but cuz they said it was nothing I don't think I'll be able to convince my parents into getting a second opinion. (Not to mention the vet took at most 5mins looking at them, they asked the questions all to my dad which spends max 10 mins with them per day whilst I spend most of the day with them (I'm on school holidays) and even then she asked what they ate and my dad said chicken starter, she didn't even mention them needing nutritional yeast 🥴 (my mum bought the yeast so my dad didnt know about it) do y'all think it's any worry? (Plz tell me about the weights. That's my main concern cuz she's half the size aswell) They're 9 days old approx and they're call ducks. Am I just worrying over nothing?

I raised 2 clutchmates last year where one was much smaller than the other.. There is variation in normal giving a range of normal weights. Also, sex variation with male ducks bigger than females. That sex difference can show in ducklings. There is variation between different laying females. If your ducklings came from a feed store, they will come from different females and may be a couple of days different in date hatched within one batch on sale.

Weigh your ducklings and as long as each one is gaining weight, do not worry about the two being different sizes

The two ducklings also look like very different breeds. One looks like Saxony, which is a very large breed, or a buff. The other one could be a fawn and white runner, which is one of the smallest breeds. So you would expect them to be very different sizes as they grow up.

I agree with @KathiQuacks that you want to make sure they have deep enough water to dunk their heads in. They can eye or respiratory infections if they don't have deep enough water to clean their eyes and nares.

Both should be call. And yea they have enough water to clean their nose, they also get some swimming time (in heated water) per day (cuz I thought about that

Ohh alright! :) thank you so much!! They came from a breeder on FB

I can’t comment too much on the weight, but I do know there are many factors that can affect it. As long as they look and act healthy, it could be normal.

For their sneezing, do they have water deep enough to dunk their bills? They need it to clear their nares.
Yea! They have water deep enough to clean their noses. Should I change it for a bowl tho? Cuz maybe that's deeper? (They're using one of the bowls that comes with those chick water dispensers it's deep enough to clean their noses, But maybe they need something extra?

I've quoted all three, so hopefully y'all get the notification! :)
Uh, I think the reason about the weight is that the smaller one is getting less food? I've noticed droppings are smaller, and she's not an aggressive eater. Do y'all have any tips about that? But anyway tysm for your help!! :D I've also mooved their bedding over from towels to puppy pads.

Are they running out of food? You should make sure the bowl is never empty. I wet the food and they really like that.

You definitely have to clean the brooder every day. Ducklings are messy! Can you post a picture of your brother set up?
