Hey Cassie,

You and your daughter did a great job! It's really cute and your duckies look happy! That's all that matters! Monica

Thank u! After they were n there, it didn't look like enough room once there pool was in. I had some extra wire mesh left over & I already had the stakes, so we put the extension on the front & we only leave the door open for them to go out to the extension when we are outside with them :).

Finally finished!!

Daughter painted the side. She isn't finished & we have to do touch ups.

I painted cat-tails on the back.

They r resting after playing in the water for a long time

ooh thanks for the idea! I bought some mesh but decided the run it would make just wasn't big enough for my liking, and so I just been putting it off till I can buy more. But I have some chain link, I made a circle out of it so she has a place to wander when I am watching. I think I'll just make a small run with what I've got, and use the chain link again for an extension, at least I won't have to lock her in her house whenever I leave.

Glad to help :)! They don't get to go into the extension unless we are out there. We have hawks in our area.I have pad locks on the top of the house & on the pen door. I also worry about human predators/thieves.

I understand that. Mom said there are hawks around here, but I've never seen one. The guy across the road here had chickens that free ranged. They'd cross the road and hang out in my yard. He never lost any of those, but I'd be devastated if something got Duckie. My main concern here during the day is dogs. I had some roosters a few years ago I was growing out, they just free ranged in my yard, but I never got to eat any, a loose dog cleaned me out in one day. Left me nothing but piles of feathers.

Aawwww, I'm so sorry :(. Remember dogs can dig, so u may want to put wire @ the bottom & some kind of netting or wire mesh will prevent the hawks from attacking them :). Oh, make sure the fencing/wire mesh is small enough that a raccoon can't reach through!!
