Crowing
I didn't want to go back into Coturnix keeping, but a cousin of mine offered me an outdoor coop, and 5 birds. I believe one is male.(no calls yet, but there were a few foamy poops in the enclosure) anyway, that's beside the point.
my question is, how do I replace the wire floor with something easier on their feet?
the coop is one of those tall cabinet types, with 4 or 5 levels that are set up to operate as different pens. there is a removable poop shelf under each wire floor, and the door locks with a latch at each level. I was thinking I could get some plastic ( just lids to those big plastic totes you buy at Walmart, scrap plastic I happen to already have), and put it over the wire with some kind of bedding?
advice?
suggestions?
any knowledge is good
