I have a 3 week old chick that I believe has cocci. The chick will not eat or drink. I bought corid, 9.6 and put 9ml in a gallon of water. I gave the chick a little with a syringe. But have not seen any improvement in the past couple hours. Should I give more? How much? Or should I give undiluted corid? I also gave a few drops of sugar water. I thought it might give the chick a little energy boost to eat and drink on its own, but it did not work.

Can you post a picture of the chick?
I would give it 2 drops of straight Corid to the side of the beak and let it wick in.
Repeat in 12 hours.
Drip sugar water to the side of the beak too to try to hydrate her and perk her up enough to eat on her own. Be very careful not to drip water directly in her break as it's very easy to aspirate her.
If anything makes her perk up, offer her a wet mash with a couple drops of Corid in that too. You can also scramble an egg and offer her that to entice her.

Sorry, the chick had passed shortly after I had posted this. I’ve hatched/raised two sets of chicks before and never experienced cocci. The other ones I raised I had always fed them medicated feed and put probiotics in their water a couple days out of the week. I didn’t feed this set medicated, I think that’s where I had went wrong. Had 18, lost 4. The ones that weren’t sick, I immediately started giving medicated feed, they seem to be alright. That was very good advice though, everything I was finding was saying to dilute it or to just give it straight, but wouldn’t say how much or how often. My nurse friends were the ones that figured out 9ml for me

I'm sorry to read this. :hugs
I have Corid in my ER supplies. It's just one of those things that's better to have and not need than to need and not have.
