Hi! My chicks just had coccidosis and finished 7 days of treatment (corid) today I know I’m supposed to give them something like poultry cell because they need thiamine again- however I noticed that some of their formed poops has tiny amounts of blood and that there were some looser lighter brown stools still. Is it okay to start the poultry cell or do they still maybe have an active infection? They are all acting fine, eating and drinking. - maybe some have slightly ruffled feathers still but looking for advice so they stay healthy! I also have hydro hen on hand, but that doesn’t have the thiamine in it. I just know cocci thrives on thiamine so I want to make sure I’m doing everything right!

tiny amounts of blood
Is it blood or intestinal shed?
looser lighter brown stools
Could be cecal poops. Can you post pictures?
7 days of treatment
I have typically done the full dose treatment for 5 days followed by a 1/2 dose treatment for another 5 days. Then you can give them poultry vitamin and mineral supplement along with probiotics to help their gut flora to recover.

This was their poops this am, also just noticed one formed one with a little poop but didn’t get a picture

The mustard looking poops are cecals and nothing to be concerned with.
I would continue them on 1/2 the dose of Corid water for 5 more days then start with the vitamin/mineral supplements with probiotics for a week.

Thank you so much for your input! I appreciate it! And your time!
