WOOO! Planning time!!!

Anyone every use them?

I ordered from E&R two years ago, and did a "gamble" I thought of getting live plants shipped, and holy cow. They were better than the flats at the nursery, and more variety. It's a Mennonite company, no website, answering service only, but plain awesome stuff.

They have the BEST canning tomatoes I've ever found - their heirloom "Amish Paste" ones, which get bigger than regular tomatoes and are almost all flesh, little water or seed. I get the started plants, and they run about $0.60 each, and shipping is very, very reasonable.

They also have a lot of organic and heirloom seeds and plants. Definately recommend checking them out- they do have email to order a catalog

I can't wait for spring!!!

They don't have a website, but they do have an answering service and email (that apparently a non-Mennonite answers). Email is [email protected], phone is 866-510-3337. I emailed them a couple years ago for the catalog, and they send it regularly, along with their summer and fall catalogs (which have other supplies and cool stuff.)

Forgot - they also do bulk seed and organic bulk seed too

This looks like it should be front page news.

You can bet I'll call for my catalog tomorrow!
Thanks for the information.

For fun I counted - they offer over 200 varieties of tomatoes - red slicers, yellow slicers, roma and saladette, cherry and grap, red, orange, yellow, black, green and other color heirlooms and standard varieties. All the seeds have good descriptions - a colored note if they offer it in started plants, organic, treated seed, and many of the desciptions have a picture too

Also, sometimes it's hard to manually calculate the shipping or whatnot, so they return your order slip with the shipment, with all the prices calculated. Last time I just tacked on a few dollars to my order, and my shipment arrived with a little pack of dollars and change

I've heard of people sending a blank check, and they fill it out properly. Makes it very simple and they are very trustworthy.
