Ok I heard that Easter and Olive eggers start laying around 7 months. But at about 20 weeks this is what I'm getting. And they all started the same week. I'm guessing the green eggs are from the Olive egger and Easter egger. I'm also surprised at how close the Easter egger colors are like the Olive eggers but no complaints. I'm confused at why they are already laying.

Hi. :frow

I have had Easter Eggers lay at 18 weeks or much later. Doesn't matter what people SAY, the birds mature when their body is ready.

Awesome that you got a strain that starts laying at a nice age! Won't surprise me if the color gets a little lighter on the eggs. I thought one of my EE was laying olive but it changed to a nice light green. Agreed though, those are beautiful eggs.. Congrats! :celebrate

What other breeds do you have? But yup, I see an olive egger egg and easter egger eggs. They can lay any time after 16 weeks.
My originals started laying at 5 months and I've selected the offspring to lay as early as 16 weeks. I had one lay earlier than that.

It just depends on what went into the selection process in the generations prior. I have mostly EEs but I also have a few OEs and some EEs have been crossed with Marans and the eggs have become quite a varied assortment.
(The smaller eggs are OEGB and Silkie)

20 to 25 weeks is average for my Easter Eggers, if kept on a higher protein diet till onset of lay and not switched to layer prematurely. The customers who purchase my chicks and switch them to layer feed at 18 to 20 weeks report that it takes 28 to 35 weeks for them to start laying. That protein content is crucial.
