gonna deworm my chickens. Can you eat eggs while medicating? What is recommended?

The general wisdom I've always heard and practiced is not eating the eggs for 2 weeks after treatment. That said, many people eat them right away and I haven't heard of any side effects.

What is the name of the wormer? If using Valbazen or fenbendazole (SafeGuard, Panacur) generally most wait for 2 weeks to use eggs. Some people don’t worry about it, but do not give away/sell eggs if you ignore the egg withdrawal time. In the UK some use Flubendazole or Flubenvet in the feed for 5-6 days. That does not require an egg withdrawal time.
