I have a rainbow laying assortment of hens, but i need some dark olive eggers. I have 1 or 2 laying light olive eggs. I have an incubator full of crosses in lockdown. Im wanting to keep a couple if i can get info on their egg colors. My only Rooster (Daddy) is an Easter Egger. Ameraucana X ?.. My hens are French Black Copper Morans, Easter Eggers, Ameraucanas, and Plymouth Barred Rock. Any experience or ideas on what color eggs these chicks may throw?

Maran mixes will lay an olive shade of green. Easter eggers, it depends on the color that the hens lay. If they lay green, then the offspring will lay mint green eggs. Plymouth rock would lay light green.

Its almost impossible to get the color right in these pics. But my EE hens lay more of a blue shade egg than green. Not much differen than the Ameraucanas however, they do look more green pigmented in direct sunlight. These are the colors i get. 4 left most eggs are BCM, then Plymouth rock, then EEs, then last two Ameraucanas. Well, i definitely have 2 or 3 laying more olive color, so what ive been calling Easter Eggers, are they actually Olive Eggers?

If you want the darker olive egg color, then I recommend breeding your Black Copper Marans rooster to your Olive Eggers (F1). The pullets (F2) produced from this cross will lay darker olive green egg, but also a chance they will lay dark brown. ☺️

My EE hens mostly lay mint colorish eggs. Not much different than the Ameraucanas

Also, im not quite sure why those two BCM eggs look pink. They usually look like the first two. Maybe on of my BCM just started laying again this year and this is the result of their first eggs this season? They seem to have a chalky film on them, but won't come off with rubbing.

Im not. Sure. Olive eggers can be a true breed. Easter eggers are really just barnyard mixes and they lay an assortment of different colors but based on the picture you gave me and the chart i sent you, you easter eggers eggs seem to be the right color. I have a sapphire olive egger and she lays light blue eggs.

Olive eggers are usually a a specific cross or hybrid between a dark brown egg layer and a true blue egg layer. They are not a breed. Easter Eggers are usually ameraucana related and can lay any color really, but tend to lay blue or green.
Technically an olive egger is just a specific kind of EE.☺️

The two after the rocks are definitely more darker olive color than the photo shows. Distinct from green and blue hues. they are distinct from the rest and the Ameraucanas.
