I am curious; how do YOU store your eggs? I am super new, to all of this.
I have heard, that you can just keep them on the counter, in a bowl; as long as you don't wash the outer shell?
I have been rinsing, and putting them in the fridge.

I sell a lot of my eggs, so that depends on the customer, I have 1 lady that only wants brown eggs (no colored eggs) washed, and refrigerated, so that's how I do them, most of my customers do not want them washed or refrigerated, so I store them on the counter, pointy side down, then box them up. My eggs for personal use do not get washed, but get stored in the fridge, pointy side down. I do have a separate carton in the fridge for any eggs that got soiled, they get washed and stored the same way.

I don't wash my eggs, but I tend to store them in the fridge. I don't worry about which end is down, I have a bucket. I cook a lot and we generally go through them this time of year.

I will keep them on the counter if I am hoping for a broody hen - I pencil the date on them, and use the old ones first. This gives me a viable clutch ready to go.

However, egg production will be dropping soon, so in the summer, when I had so many eggs, I didn't know what to do with them, I water glassed them. I have 5 gallon jars of eggs, and a week ago, when all of my 9 grandchildren came for several days, I got into the stored eggs.

I don't wash them - we don't eat them raw, and my nests are clean and I get clean eggs most of the time. If I get a really dirty egg, I was that one.

Keep clean nests! And dry runs.
