Egg withdrawal doxycycline and Fluconazole?

Thank you!
When you say “now” approves, does that mean it formerly was approved, or that it has not been approved ever?

I’m curious why my vet would prescribe these meds if not approved, however, I’m not confident my girl will lay again if she even survives.

Things change; more tetracyclines were approved in years gone by, but because of concerns about drug residues in our food supply, more restrictions are now in place.
Egg yolks in the hen store products very well, sometimes too well!
So sorry that your bird is ill!
I've used products in the past that are no longer 'kosher', it's a moving landscape.
Products used in pets aren't the same as what can be used in livestock, and chickens are classed as livestock.

Sorry your hen is sick. :hugs Your vet prescribed those drugs because he/she is trying to save the life of your chicken. Don't worry about the withdrawal time yet, just focus on getting you hen better. When the time comes, have your vet contact FARAD for egg withdrawal times.

Were there any answers on the withdrawal period for Fluconazole? I am about to use it as it's the only OTC med that I can get, and no vets around here will see a chicken :(.

I don't think there is an official withdrawal, but I'm gonna guess that 2-4 weeks should be fine.

I have been looking for any withdrawal times for fluconazole, and although there were several articles about it’s use in birds or poultry for fungal infections, there is nothing about how long it is found in egg yolks or whites. Since fluconazole is used in humans for fungal infections, it is not a dangerous drug, but if I were using it for my chickens, I would wait at least a month before eating eggs.
