My name is Heather and my husband Kevin and I are in the process of building our coop in preparation for our chicks to be picked up May 7th. He has experience with chickens from his childhood, while I am a true city girl turned country and very excited about learning all I can.
I bred and showed Persian cats for 20 years and retired when COVID hit - having babies and vet care was questionable so I decided to close my cattery for the sake of my cats. With this history in mind, I have been doing so much reading about genetics as this just fascinates me - always has. Also learning all I can about husbandry practices, health concerns, and so much more I am sure I haven’t even thought of yet.
