Eggs left sitting in water

I have a quick question - my dd was washing the eggs (supposedly) and left them sitting in the tub of water for almost 2 hours (I ran out to run errands and when I came back the eggs were still sitting there). We usually put them in a small tub of water with some of the All Natural Egg Cleanser and let them sit for about 5 min (instructions say "10-15 min), then we scrub & rinse. Are these eggs still OK? I know they can absorb water & I'm assuming the cleanser as well. The water had cooled to room temp.

There's nothing in those cleaners that could cause you harm if you ate the eggs, but I do know that yeast is a common ingredient. It's possible that it could make those eggs taste pretty funny, as 2 hours is plenty of time for a good ol growth bloom if yeast made it through the shell.

Crack one open and give it a sniff. You should be able to tell right away if that happened.

thank you! would you sell them? i cracked open a couple and they seemed fine (didn't smell).

Hrm, if it were me in the same boat, I'd cook one up and eat it really quickly just to make double triple sure there's no taste issue, then go ahead and sell them.

I'm really careful about making sure my customers have nothing to complain about with my eggs. My fiance rolls his eyes at me all the time with my egg-polishing :p.
