Emu Chick HELP!

Emu chick started walking Backwards after 3 weeks hatched. He will walk fwd very slow but then something happens and he goes backwards fast and falls he eats really good and drinks good. Please help!

Hi! I'm not familiar with emus (just ordered my first eggs) but if this was a chicken I'd suspect possibly a nutritional deficiency causing neurological symptoms. What are you feeding the little guy?

You might also want to ask over in the Emu section, since there will be experienced emu owners there and they might be able to better help you.

I feed greens and chick starter I also took him to the vet today and they said that is might be a possible brain injury. Thank you so much for replying they did give him some steroids to see if that will help. He said to play it by ear. I can say he seems to be doing better today.

Chick starter as in chicken chick starter or ratite starter? If chicken starter, I'd get ratite starter ASAP and switch him onto that and see if it helps. I really hope he gets better for you

Vet gave him steroids and now he is perfect! I had to bumper guard the pin to keep them from getting any more head injury's
