Is it okay to give my chicken erythromycin for an eye infection? If so, how much? Her eye is swollen and has a bit of pus.

Erythromycin has been used in the past for treatment of MG in chickens. Gallimycin was the name of once used before they took antibiotics out of feed stores. I will try to look up dosage. It may work, but I would use Tylosin powder in the water. There are others used, such as oxytetracycline, doxycycline, and enrofloxacin.

Can you post a picture of the eye? Does she have other symptoms? I would work on pressing any pus from around the eye, flush the eye with saline or eye wash twice a day, and follow that with either Terramycin eye ointment or plain Neosporin into the eye.
