Below I have attached my silkie chicks I hatched this year and their parents. The 2 red chicks are 3 1/2 months old (July 21). The non bearded just now showing comb and wattles. The black topped one is 3 months old (August 2). I’ve noticed they aren’t vocal like a rooster, don’t strut or try to pick fights, they tend to stick with the roo just peck about and trying their best to stay out of the way. To me they also sound/talk like hens, the non beared and black topped definitely. The dad is the bigger red rooster and the mother is the unkept psychotic splash with the straight red comb. I know it’s still too early to tell but I just want some guidance and reassurance 😅 I would hate for them to be all boys and I have to give them away because I absolutely adore them.

So beautiful!

I'm cautiously leaning toward nearly all pullets because they're close to sexing, IMO, but I need a few more weeks...., look at those hackles on your black-headed one. None of the others have enough to judge but I think that one does.

That’s what I’ve been keeping an eye on too. They’re just so little like their mom that I don’t know if it could be a runt rooster or hen. Fingers crossed though!

The silkie with the straight red comb is the mother. She’s not purebred, I’m not sure what she’s mixed with. But she has laid multiple eggs 😂

That's why I didn't bother telling you what sex your father or mother were. That's a bit obvious lol. Beautiful parents though!
