Ex battery hens near NC?

Maybe because there are no chicken farms in your vicinity.

Eventually there may be some that are near you. I know, by reading so many of these postings, that most are trying to rehome roosters.
But I do come across peeps that want to rehome hens, due to changes in their chicken circumstances. (usually moving, and cant take with)

Then go to one and inquire. They must be egg farms, not meat farms obviously.
Another thing to consider,,, is these places do take Biosecurity SERIOUSLY.. That means they will not let you enter the chicken area. They would have to bring the chickens to where you are outside their safe perimeter. And it would have to be during the time when they are doing a change out.
