This weekend's show is the Fancy Feathers Show in Anniston, AL. I love going to this show because it's family run. THey do a great job every year and always have new ideas for activities while judging is happening. I am particularly excited to be showing one of the pastels I hatched out this summer. He has the best bill out of all the colors of call ducks I have. He also has a great head. He has a small, wide body. But he is young, so he hasn't filled out yet. He has good color too. I know he won't beat any whites, but I'm still excited to show him.
I stayed in a hotel last time I was in Anniston, which cost me $75. I wouldn't mind doing that occasionally, but I go to shows almost every weekend and it adds up quick. So this time, I'm bringing my truck bed tent to sleep in. It's a tent that goes over the bed of your truck. I won't be the only one "camping". My friend Tony, who won Best Silkie and Best Bantam at Ohio Nationals (10,600 birds he beat), always brings his big fancy RV to the show. Maybe he'll see my wimpy truck tent and let me sleep in his heated RV on the couch
It's supposed to be 47F tonight, so I brought my 0F sleeping bag and a heat "sock" to stay warm. I get cold VERY easily so keep me in y'all's thoughts and prayers lol.
