My husband and I ordered duck eggs from eBay because we have an acre pond and have some wild mallards that visit every now and then. We have enjoyed watching them swim in the pond, only for a few seconds because they fly away quickly when they spot us. We love animals and thought it would be cool to have ducks of our own to watch enjoy the pond. Our children are animal lovers as well and enjoy anything to do with animals. After consideration we decided to incubate some eggs to watch the whole process from start til finish and it has served to be an excellent science lesson as well for our children.
I received the order of eggs from eBay seven our eight days after shipment. The seller said the eggs were very fresh when he shipped them. We received 18 eggs and so far 12 have survived! I’m not sure if this is a good number or not, but I’m pleased with it.
Since receiving the shipment of eggs, I have been reading posts on and off from back yard chickens, which as been extremely helpful!
Here we are four days until the hatch day and I have some questions!
