I was recently contacted by Rob from BYC (Backyard Chickens), who informed me that I had been chosen to represent BYC by testing a new digital incubator being introduced by your company. I went to Brinsea online to see what the 56EX Connect was and am extremely impressed and excited about this opportunity.

I am nearly always incubating silkie chicken eggs. I purchase hatching eggs from quality breeders in the U.S., but I also have my silkie hens whose eggs I hatch, too.

I would love to hatch eggs in your new digital incubator and will be very happy to do anything you request in the form of promotion or spreading information about it. Thank you for this amazing opportunity, and thank you so much for your support for BYC.

Rob at BYC just let me know that I’ve been chosen to evaluate the new Brinsea 56EX Connect. This is amazing and I’m super excited about using the incubator.

First things first, let me introduce myself. My name is Kathy White and I’m a long time BYC contributor under the username casportpony. I’ve always appreciated Brinsea’s support of the BYC community and have had a ton of fun with the Brinsea-sponsored contests over the years. I have extensive incubation experience starting more than 10 years ago with very simple incubators and progressing to more complex ones, hatching chickens, ducks (muscovy, peking, runner, & call ducks), turkeys, and my current passion, peafowl. I’ve shared this experience extensively on BYC.

Brinseas innovation with the app controlled incubator is exactly what I’ve been waiting for - hook up to my wifi and being able to monitor the incubator from my phone is a game changer. I love the quality of the Brinsea heat plates and candler that I purchased many years ago and still use daily during incubation season.

We appreciate you taking part in the BETA test for our exciting new Ovation 56 EX Connect. It should be shipping out today so look out for tracking information.

Once you have your incubator, please download the Brinsea app from either The Apple Store or Google Play. After you have downloaded the app to your smartphone all you need to do is to scan the QR code on your product and register your incubator on the app. The app then takes you through the setup step by step, connecting to your Wi-Fi network. Once setup is complete, you can then either use the incubator buttons or your phone to make adjustments to control your incubator. Any adjustments you do on the incubator show on your phone and vice versa. If you need any help during this process please visit: https://brinsea.co.uk/latest/connect-faqs/

Please also register your incubator for your extended 3-year guarantee here: https://brinsea.co.uk/register-your-product/ so the UK get notified of you going live.

As part of the Beta test programme you are also invited to join the Connect with Brinsea Connect Facebook Group (optional), where you can share your experiences of using the Connect app with other users. Once you have registered one of the members of the technical team in UK ill be in touch to discuss the collection of your feedback. Most likely in the form of one or two video interviews one at he start of the incubation process and one after you have finished hatching. For their purpose tlhey would like you to take photos of the incubation process and write a short review of your experience for their website and social media pages. Exposure on the forum, etc would greatly benefit us in the US.
