Silver Bielefelder Hatch-A-Long

Hey all you peeps ☺️ following our cheeps 🐣, it's update time! Tonight, we took our egg incubation process up a notch by entering lockdown mode and conducting one final round of egg candling 🕯️ to inspect our precious eggs. Unfortunately, feeling a bit under the weather 🤢, I decided to forgo snapping any egg photos this time around. But honestly, there wasn't much to capture anyhow.

As we carefully examined each egg under the bright light 🕯️, our suspicions were confirmed. Two of the eggs we had our doubts about turned out to be duds—one showed no signs of development, while the other seemed to have halted its growth early on. 😢 However, on the bright side, the rest of the eggs 🥚 appeared promising, boasting healthy air pockets inside.

Now, onto the exciting part—we're still have 5 Silver Bielefelder eggs that appear healthy. So, let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope for a successful hatch with plenty of hens! 😄 And mark your calendars, because hatch day is quickly approaching—set for this upcoming Monday! 📅

So, we had an early hatcher last night. The chick is hopping around between the eggs, packing at them and chirping and periodically snuggling up with them. One of the eggs it keeps returning to is pipped. The chick can probably hear the other baby inside of it.

I'm pretty sure. This is a male and he's on his rounds to gather up his flock. I will try to get some better photos, but the glass glare is making that difficult

It does look like a male but I'd like to see all of them together and fully fluffed before giving my final answer.
And I mean it did show up early. That doesn't sound like the trait of a female.

Another egg is pipping! So far, the other two aren't showing signs of hatching, but around 8:30pm is day zero on the incubator
