Expired cottage cheese?

That’s a waste. The expiration dates on food mean virtually nothing. Ask you need is your eyes and nose to know if something is bad or rancid.
I agree but if it is not something I would eat i won't feed it to anybody else.

I grew up in a time when food was not dated, so if it passes the looks okay, smells okay test then I'd have no problem eating it. I store dairy products upside down until I open them and have eaten products 6+ months past their date with no ill effects. Make that lasagna it will be delicious!

You CAN eat it is what I’m saying. A lot of companies do that on purpose to get you to throw away the product faster and buy more.
Sorry for the confusion.
The word expired means nothing to me too.
Rotten was what I assumed the OP originally meant.

I think cooked it might be okay cause you would cook away potential germs? But idk. I personally wouldn’t just because I’m paranoid especially with dairy 😂🤣 I’ve eaten other expired stuff as long as it looks okay but dairy I don’t like risking. But that’s just me. It might be fine. It does look a little drier or something? The expiration dates are usually just a “best by” date anyway rather than a “rotten by” 😜
