Eye injury or infection

Farm vet group mostly moved to small animal. No culture

Eye looks better today. No foam, still swollen but less red. She is scratching both sides, clipped her nails. She will stay separated for another day or more so I am sure that she either is or isnt sick.

Rest of flock still has dry eyes.

It is best to keep sick birds separated from your flock for two weeks AFTER they are back to 100%, not just showing improvement.

The eye looks really good this morning!

I spoke to the state vet (tech) and she said probably bacterial, maybe MG, maybe coryza maybe aspirgillosis. Keep her separated for 7 days. If I continue to have problems, they (state) can culture for me to determine exactly what I have.

Fingers crossed that the other birds stay healthy.

Any suggestions for keeping her quiet? I have her in a big dog crate, but let her in a small dog run 3'x4' and she was quiet this morning, but moving more this afternoon. Should I just keep her in the crate? It is over 90 today.

Of course I just looked up aspirgillosis and it's a fungus. Maybe I heard her wrong.

that's a common infection normally attributed to moldy bedding.

She has no symptoms of aspergillosis. Granted other than the bubbly eye, she has no signs of respiratory infection either....
