Barnyard mixes are awesome, many beautiful feather patterns, usually healthy and good layers for many years, what's not to like? LOL

I often wonder the same thing, but they seem to get around just fine.

They come right up to me, but do tend to do a little head tilt in order to see better. lol Sometimes I tape up their little hairdos so they can see clearly.

I know it would be a no-no for a show bird, but I would be doing a bit of trimming with the scissors to help out their peripheral vision if they were going to be out ranging in the open. Or maybe the Yorkie fountain hairdo....
