Because I am curious...
Many of us seem to have a favourite bird whether we keep chickens or peahens, ducks or guinea fowl. How did your favourite end up being your favourite? And I'd love to see a pic! :)

Hepzibah is mine because when I got this batch of chickens she was the only one I was absolutely sure of identifying 100% of the time so she got more attention & was friendlier as a result.

My favourite is Mary. She has huge dark eyes and is very playful and sweet. This pose is classic Mary: she looks lovely, I hold up the camera and, surprise! she pranks me with a sudden move. Then she'll run off, chasing wild birds for the umpteenth time :love

My favorite is Chester. I found him abandoned in a parking lot and put him in my rooster flock. He follows me around, is easy to pick up, and will sometimes even fly onto my arm (when he's feeling generous :lol:). Chester is an American gamefowl mix, which I suspect is part of the reason why he's so friendly, yet not at all aggressive.
