Feeding broiler and layer chicks together

Hello everibody :)
Looking for some advice for a particular situation.
I have a flock of 35 layers, mostly adult, some pullets just about to start laying.
One of them went broody and I decided to add a few day old broiler chicks to her brood of layer chicks (once they hatch).
Since the whole point is me not having additional work with broilers, all chicks will be fed the same diet. They are not and will not be separated from the flock (we free range all day) but I have a setup to separate chick feed so that it is only accessible to them. I am also kinda hoping that the broody will somewhat deter the broiler chicks from sitting around the feeder all day, as I am told they tend to do if left to their own "instincts".
So the question - what to feed them so the layers will not develop to fast to be healthy and at the same time the broilers waaay to slow - I am aiming for around 6 lbs live weight at 12 weeks. I am not worried about meat not being the same as the store-bought meat, it is not what I am aiming for at all.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, thanks 🙂 I actually came to that conclusion myself after reading about all flock feed (not really available where I live but the composition is not that hard to come by, just goes by different name).

Sounds good. With the broody and them free ranging I'd expect the broiler chicks to forage for a lot of their feed so do not expect them to grow as fast as they would if confined and force fed meat bird diet. I don't know if you will meet your weight goal or not, but I'd think the "no additional work with broilers" will offset any shortcomings there.
