Can it be done?
Is it worth it?

I haven't seen organic game bird feeds ANYWHERE, but some people make their own by combining organic chicken feed with crushed dry cat food to up the protein content. Seems a bit unbalanced to me.

I used to raise these birds stopped and am back

I use a variety of dried greens and mealworms but still offer non GMOs 28% feed also

They also get lots of berries from our garden and love cucumbers although my gut says cucumbers ain't offering much in the way of nutrition

They like cherry tomatoes also

The only harm I can think of regarding providing regular feed is the potential presence of harsh pesticides. And the reading I've done on GMOs (for human consumption) indicate that, while we don't know their exact long term impacts, they don't appear to cause harm. But feeding organic/non-GMO shouldn't hurt, either, as long as you can ensure the birds get their dietary needs met.

To me, the convenience of pre-mixed high-protein "regular" feed outweighs the potential benefits of organic feed.

I use 20% chicken protein feed (organic) with meal worms or fly larva for the extra protein....then give them scraps, lettuce, and greens/other bugs from the grass.
