LAYING EGGS QUAILS - WHAT FOOD TO GIVE?!?

I use All Flock crumbles, with crushed oyster shell (parakeets). I have had no issues with any of my quail, they are all healthy and thriving.

How about

Kalmbach 20% Flock maker feed? Would this be sufficient since they are adult female layers and then just add the oyster shell? Or is that only for young chicks.

I had to go look up the nutritional information on this feed, but this is what I found. Based on the information I found, this will work for your adults. It would be better if it had a bit more protein, but they will do okay on this.

are they adult layers? What brand and protein percentage do you use
Yes, they are almost a year now. I use Homestead, and 17%. Haven't had any issues at all.

But I also use quail sized no waste food containers (like chicken buckets but smaller), so there's always food available.
