The pigeons are returning early to our neck of the woods. They are beautiful fan-tailed birds, but I can't say I'm excited about it. They cost us a fortune!!!

I saw the first robin of the year! Spring must be coming!!!

Hearing some Toms coming off the roost in the back of the property, 6 hen birds strolled by the chickens and scratching under the bird feeder. Hopefully will see some puffing and strutting soon. Numbers have been down the past couple of yrs from 20+ to maybe a half dozen, want to see some poults. Yotes have been brutal on birds and deer.

Filled the bird feeders - they were completely empty, and the red winged blackbirds were loudly complaining. Wood frogs are 'quacking' away in the vernal pools, but no egg masses yet.

Had a pair of ravens here briefly yesterday. Saw some Juncos today along with the regulars.
